چکیده

ZnO nanorods with different sizes and shapes have been successfully synthesized via a simple hydrothermal route, using zinc acetate and Cetyltriammonium bromide (CTAB) as the reactants. The thick films of as prepared ZnO were prepared by screen-printing technique in desired pattern. The films are characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and transmission electron microscopy (TEM). The gas sensing properties of the materials have been investigated for various interfering gases such as CO2, CO, Ethanol, NH3 and H2S etc at operating temperature from 30 (room temperature) to 300C. The results indicate that the ZnO nanorod thick films showed much better sensitivity and stability than the conventional materials to H2S gas at 30C. The nanoshaped pillar can improve the sensitivity and selectivity of the sensors. ZnO nanorods are excellent potential candidates for gas sensors.

Synthesis and gas sensor applications of nanostructured ZnO grown at low temperatures

ZnO nanoarchitecture-based nanoand microdevices came into the focus due to their multifunctional operation. In this work, we summarize cost-effective procedures to grow ZnO nanoand microstructures, namely hydrothermal growth and electrochemical deposition. These techniques allow the controllable growth of ZnO nanoand microarchitectures at relatively low temperatures, below 100 ◦C, and do not re...

Preparation and Characterization of Hydrothermally Grown ZnO Nanorods for Photoconductive Sensors Applications

ZnO nanorods (NRs) were deposited on p-type silicon (Si) wafers by low-temperature hydrothermal method. The structural morphology of the ZnO-NR films were characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD) and scanning electron microscopy (SEM) respectively. The ZnO-NR films exhibit wurtzite ZnO structure and the average length of the ZnO-NRs were in the range from 750 nm to 800 nm. The electrical charac...
